THE FOREST - Poem 7
The forest seemed black
in the distance,
like a thick wall that prevented
the passage,
and little by little,
upon coming closer,
its dark color began to turn
into green foliage,
protecting between shadows
the secret of its sites .
The sun looked at it,
touching lightly in passing
the leaves of the tall branches,
leaving mysterious openings
that changed things
into a fantastic world
of furtive whispers and lively hearts,
hidden movements
that where hinted at rather than being seen
between the fanciful zig zag
of countless ferns
that curiously peeked through
skirting paths hardly visible
against the light of scarce fog.
The earth smelled of fruits
and its dense and fresh fragrance
became a taste in the air,
that enraptured,
hugged the light
and the shadows
wrapping it all in a gentle drowsiness,
warm embrace
that broke without hurting
the noise of the happy water,
eternal washer that in the distance ran,
nude and clean,
giving life to the countryside.
All was sweet repose
for the soul in a hurry,
a slow trip back
to a universe that sways calmly
among the ruins
where the rain and peace cry
for all their creatures. View All Comments Comments (0)
