EVE She did not know enough to shun the serpent
at a time when there was nowhere to restore,
foresaw what dying meant than imagined hate
Even in paradise, lies stalk a flaw:
that evil never is as it appears
too immaculate to sense the voice of a mask;
believing anything to be possible
so stirred by the depth of darkness in His plan,
