Stoopid Movie
The poem in its entirety is shown below, which unfortunately had to be abbreviated to fit the audio-visuals presented here. Let’s watch a stoopid movie ……please ? For the wait has been long With kids and without song That it wouldn’t hurt to see Another Adam Sandler to take us out of our misery It has to be The stoopidest movie …ever As stoopid as you and me With eyes staring , yet not seeing Within arm’s length yet not reaching With words for pain to feel Yet none to heal. We cross paths In the skimpy moat of a tiny room Yet pass each other Like distant foghorns In this vacuum sea I know you not …anymore Maybe I can find you in the ridiculous laughter Of “Dumb and Dumber” ..or whatever And never mind the popcorn or your being polite The icy silence hangs like a stalactite Dragged by a string to a kite That begs to be set free. Maybe the time will come to confess After all the laundry and the mess That it’s your face by the front door I would rather see Instead of this cell phone glaring at me. But for now, Let’s watch a stoopid movie ….Please ?
