Sidewalk Shuffle
Sidewalk Shuffle
by MrDaMan
Virgil R. Hall II (Randy)
Traveling again on insane ground,
just foolin with chaos and messin around.
Shuffling my steps on an upbeat sound,
not sure if my soul is lost or found.
I’ve said it over and over and again,
the most delicious light is in the darkness of sin.
Don’t know where I’m goin, don’t know where I’ve been
but the last time I checked I had one hell of a grin.
A bible thumping preacher, this poet of passion,
been trying to tell me it’s gone all out of fashion,
but he can’t fool me, I just wouldn’t listen,
I handed him the bottle and said you don’t know what you’re missin.
We tipped our hats to the deity of his boss,
We tipped our bottles to the deity of chaos.
We tipped our minds and got drunk on life,
We tipped our souls on the edge of a knife.
I’ve said it over and over and again,
the most delicious light is in the darkness of sin.
Don’t know where I’m goin, don’t know where I’ve been
but the last time I checked I had one hell of a grin.
