Arlington National Cemetery
In Honor of Memorial Day Arlington National Cemetery by MrDaMan Virgil R. Hall II (Randy) Standing on a grassy knoll, on blades of verdant green. A blanket of manicured tender providing warmth of remembrance. To heroes past and present embraced by our nations Earth. From skyline to skyline as far as the eye can see, white as doves, the crosses stand in parade, at attention inscribed with name, rank and date, giving each soldier life... in death. The conscience skips a beat as it contemplates in wonder. Bullet torn flesh, gunpowder and sweat. The vacant eyed witness to the horrors of the best and worst in men. Tasting the fear, the glory, and the passion. Waging peace in graves of honor, ghosts of embattled confrontation lost to the living except in memory… of broken family's and broken dreams resting forever in spirits glory beneath the rolling green. In numbers overwhelming consumed in battles strife. Glimpsing through the fog of war, Heavens gate or the Hounds of Hell. War and its consequences of sacrificial sanity gone insane… Lying at attention, fallen heroes wage war still with living conscience at Arlington National Cemetery View All Comments Comments (1)
