Trúc Phương (1939-1996)- author of many love songs for young Vietnamese in the years before 1975. His love songs were widely loved and sung by many young Vietnamese, and frequently performed at live shows, on TV and radio programs in Vietnam until 30 April 1975 when Truc Phuong was no longer allowed to be a song writer and his works were officially banned by the new communist government. However, his old works are still loved and performed by many famous Vietnamese singers such as Phương Mai, Thanh Thúy, Thanh Tuy�n, Phương Dzung, Chế Linh, Trư�ng Vũ, Hương Lan, Như Quỳnh, Mạnh Quỳnh... outside Vietnam for the Viet diaspora since the fall of Saigon. He passed away as a poor homeless man in 1996 in Hochiminh city (Saigon).
