The Poets War
The Poets War by MrDaMan Virgil R. Hall II (Randy) There are no killers, waxing poetic, only collateral brain damage on Red Cross stretchers, bleeding ink in confusion. Rorschach badges of empathy staining the sheets, hearts beating to chaotic rhythms following the directives of General Disorder. I hope you know… this means war! Emotional depravity shoots stolen arrows from cupids quarrel at reasons stone heart only scratching the surface of compassion, which runs deep and quiet. Taking the blows one by one, in the name of love. Adam tries to palaver with Eve’s rib, this pain in his logic, this ticklish, saucy side. Then in the foxhole of the soul as charges of discontent explode all around, it’s hand to hand, breast to breast, and a fixed bayonet unsheathed for Eves entreaty. Reason cries havoc as seduced desire succumbs to the mastery of Eves passionate emotional plea… Love me. The battle of Honey Do, the Waterloo of Reason and the Siege of Logic just never ends. This war of poetry, where millions of words are slaughtered on Dictionary Hill every day. Blitzkrieging poets launching attacks with reason and emotion, soldiering on as soldiers do… until the truce. And surrendering to love… if only for a while, as the words rally to march again… in passion, in insistence to the Poets War and rose colored glasses. It’s not the love of war, it’s not a war on love… It’s reason and emotion finding balance in adversity. View All Comments Comments (0)
