It’s not that important really,
once sharp wit… dulled by complacency.
Not the grand mal of disillusion,
but baby blues nibbling on contentment.

A crooked smile faced upon a frown,
determined to climb down from
an unrealistic high… it’ only a dream.
Bittersweet love tainted by life’s salt.

It’s the baby blues and a red rash,
on the spirit seeking direction.
Bleary eyed wonder shutting down for a nap.
Sleepy baby blues… awake and dreaming.
