Men have no clue what women can do

Back then I was just a young man
on the prowl trading in love like

a corrupt Wall Street banker or
maybe I was a slight of hand

magician on stage picking out
the Ace of Hearts every time or

what about the frivolous part
of poet perversely prying

into women’s windows late at
night? She was simple; kept to the

script; played my wife; and mother to
my kids - then one day put a .22

caliber slug into my thick
appallingly naïve mug.
