Reid Baer is Fat and Stupid

Once upon a time a thin man told me I was
funny whether I meant to be or not that I
was a kind of jolly fellow he said but what
I think he meant was that I was a really fat

stupid guy … and such is my hope to be very
very stupid and physically like the Buddha –
blessedly so passed the superiority
of sagacity in words or rhymes even in

intuitivity. So as I strive now to
understand I am back in my head to this here
stupidity rocking like a hobbyhorse to
a beat or a certain Rocking Horse Winner! I

pray for the divine kind of stupidity that
keeps my soul old as the white-haired Magician and
away from cleverness and megalomania
of the world. Oh dear God might I be deaf and dumb

to the demands of the rational mind and the
necessary assurance of being right all
the time. I beg to be free and allowed the awk-
ward folly that appears funny to mankind. I’m

unwilling to disregard such a large chunk of
stupidity inherent in all of us and
me for sure gifted with a sublime abundance -
oh yes sir - plumb full in my ignorant nature.
