Help Keep Chaos at Bay

Hey everyone I've jumped into the self-publishing world with both feet.
The Internet has made it possible to do this very inexpensively so I'm off.
Am I going to make a million bucks? LOL I doubt it, I don't do this for fame,
fortune or any other reason than that it's fun. Not that I couldn't use the money,
buy one, buy two ... FEED ME SEYMOR! But realistically why not make my works
available since the ability to do so is... so easy?

Anyone else interested in doing this kind of thing I recommend CreateSpace.com
you retain your rights they assign an ISBN and it's available on Amazon.com.
All you have to do is format in pdf, create a book cover and cover the costs of
your proofs. You don't have to print a hundred thousand copies anymore and
hope to sell them. Your book can be ordered online, printed and mailed within
just a few days.

I don't know where this will lead. Maybe nowhere but if that turns out a fact
I figure eh so what it's been a fun adventure. I have a few ideas for a couple
of more book ventures, CD and video offerings as well as e-books once I figure
out how to format nicely for them. Anyway if you have an interest and want to
buy either one the other or both CD and book, they did come out well.
I'm happy with the results.

Methuselah

Methuselah ate what he found on his plate,
And never, as people do now,
Did he note the amount of the calory count;
He ate it because it was chow.
He wasn't disturbed as at dinner he sat,
Devouring a roast or a pie,
To think it was lacking in granular fat
Or a couple of vitamins shy.
He cheerfully chewed each species of food,
Unmindful of troubles or fears
Lest his health might be hurt
By some fancy dessert;
And he lived over nine hundred years.

Blood flows heavy on parchment
as the Soul writer inks empathy
out of the veins of humanity.

Perspectives of good and evil
lost and found on a trail of witness.
Dreams and reality mixed communicable.

Upon a dark horse… white…
shredding truth and lies
with insistent spurs gouging flesh.

With an angels eyes and a devils brow
leaning onward into the falling sky,
in command only of choice.

Knowing fear but denying the luxury
because going back is impossible.
Courage is today’s path to tomorrow.

Up in the saddle, spirit coated leather
chaffs the pleasures with doubts,
with confidence, with conscience.

Threatened with LIFE!
The Soul Rider draws holstered quills.
And tightens the noose, to hang demons on every word.

I was 19 and green
as a missionary
in South America
trying to be very
good walking the land of
Simón Bolívar with
a compañero from
Columbia who just
could not speak English and
I strained – oh how it pained
me to pay attention
to his conversations
in Spanish with locals
as best I could and the
harshest reality
was that I knew I should
hope not to be really
heard myself but to bend
my gringo ears to each
foreign sound or word ‘til
my head ached and it was
me – me that understood.
