Hell Yeah!

Uh oh� the words are all piling up,
the jumbled semantics of poets and preachers,
politicians of serious whack� On the attack.

Appealing to a slap shot cluttered crap shoot
of fixed dice rattling in the bone cage
of hungry skeletons puking snake eyes.

Nicotine stained lungs wheezing
in a back room poker marathon.

Dealing arsenals of mass destruction
to states of contention, raking pots
of envy, greed and lust.

This wheel of mis-fortune spins
it�s phallic tongue slapping
tack, tack, tack
on thighs of destiny.

As the pawns cry,
the knights and bishops
play eat the cake
with the guillotine queen
and the kings wardrobe
of sunburned flesh
splays fat.

And the chorus goes,
do, to do, do, to do, do, do
do, to do, do, to do, do, do
do, to do, do, to do, do, do
do, to do, do, to do, do, do
dooooo

This is our inheritance,
trembling seductive meat,
succulent passions of crime.

Oh how we adore thee�

If only we could tear the sun
out of the sky and sear
black hearts golden.

We could walk the bloody streets
of Utopia and smile a benediction
upon Hell thankful for purpose.

Dark Treasures

I have this box
of misbehaviors,
a collection
of dark treasures.
Shiny as ancient coins
burnished by the oils
of human sins.

I try to keep
this box locked,
as politeness requires
but,
secretly enjoy the
loose latch
forgiving the
occasional snick
of a switchblade
and a sip of Rum.

The pirates,
pillaging my soul
and making fun
of my innocence.
Filling my spirit
with gales of
shadowed winds,
heightening the
boundaries of light
with dangerous
dark curiosities.

These shadows
sparkle the imagination
with what ifs
and seductive
desires.

I keep this box
of misbehaviors
in a hope chest
of civilized manners.

Leashed securely
to the better side
of my nature.

I take it out
now and again
to dream of
Dark Treasures.

I Am Stripling Warrior

intention sword and shield
in hand yet too exposed
bare-chested inflated
breathing deeply brave new
air full of aggression

And so much infantile
outrageous obsession
exposed in so many
places vulnerable
to my own emotions
and God’s graces all more

Human in regression
hoping for some success
or maybe an ounce of
maturation in this
mortal struggle for my
eternal progression
